What does this tell you about America and the Media?
I just received a recorded call from ABC NEWS conducting a POLL about the State of the Union. BUT they only wanted a MALE, 18-39 years of age.

Guess what? Yeah, I was, for a brief two minutes, a 29 year old man.

Good for you. I hate being ignored because I'm not the 'target' group.

I know!

It's bad enough we're ignored for tv programming, but GOVERNING????? Since WHEN?

Snicker.

But lord, even with soemthing like this, they can't get away from that desired demographic. Do even men stop being 'important', once they hit forty?

Unfortunately, no, the second most popular

demo is men 18 to 49 - so it's only at 50. *snicker*

ROFL! Good for you. If they're rude enough to contact you with a robot, I see no reason for you not to take some liberties with their directions. %-)

Exactly!

Only problem is, I forgot to watch ABC news at 11 when they said the results would be broadcast - so I'll have to check the site today. :)

Yay, you! Also, I'd write a snarky letter to your newspaper, pointing out that politics are being made with input from less than half of those who will be affected by those same decisions.

I'm getting so tired of this nonsense -- ie, self-serving political spin -- that I can barely tolerate the input anymore. Earlier, I read -- can't stand to listen to him speak -- about Boehner pontificating that he's following the "will of the people" in trying to deny funding for abortion. (In a bill so extreme that many couldn't get insurance even if they used their OWN money for an abortion.) The truth is, he's following the "will" of approximately 50% of the people who bothered to vote. I am so damn tired of that shit. I realize it wouldn't change their minds or actions, but couldn't they admit that there are two sides, and significant numbers hold opposite views? Grrr.....

Must have been men who 'thought' that up. Good grief...after all these years, haven't we proved we are more than just boobs!!!! Men do have the attention span of a gerbil--I knew it!

Good for you Aly. Hope it does some good.
