I have to talk about something silly to keep from going crazy
so I choose H50's episode on Monday. Opening? Oooh, scary. First scenes of Steve and Danno? Yummy. As usual, I kept yelling (in my mind, after all, I'm not crazy yet...er...well, anyway), "GET A ROOM ALREADY!"

Episode itself?

It was fine (other than knowing the bad guy the minute he showed his face - after all, why else have Nick Lachey?)until the last few minutes when clearly the writers went on a break and allowed a chimpanzee to write the ending. Hello? Writers? It's too early in the season to start dropping the ball, okay? See, if you know the girl is in on it, and you give her an ear mic, are we supposed to believe she's dumb enough to walk in and just let her boyfriend say "I told you it would be easy"? Why do I not see her giving him a sign? And why do I not think he'd figure they'd do something to protect her (because of course they're too dumb to catch his mistake) by putting at least a wire on her?

I realize it's being nitpicky, but still, I don't just want to love our boys and the team because they're so cute and good and wonderful (and Steve and Danno are in love), I want to love the show because it's also a good show. And this is far too early for the writers to get lazy. It's just the kind of thing Scott would get angry about (it's not like we don't already know how he feels about even doing a tv show).

In either case, Steve and Danno are still the most married couple on TV. :)

Oooh, you've joined the 5-0 side. Excellent!

I want to spank the writer sometimes for lazy writing but then they give us the pawnshop scene and I am all "fine yes I'll spank you later"

Show is inconsistent but the boys are so cuuuute!

Oh, yeah, that

definitely made up for it. :) And yes I am into the show - BIG time. This feels very close to how I felt with TS. :) I have twenty missing scenes in my head and can't get them down :(

can i just say how much i love it that Steve keeps a hand grenade in his boyfriend's partner's car? just in case it's needed.

and the look on Danny's face when Steve gets called the "rational one"? priceless!

but yeah, the ending was kinda lame. still, as TS fans, we're hardly in a position to throw stones...

This was definitely not their best episode. It was very predictable. If they wanted suspense they should have used an actor without such a distinctive nose and mouth. :)

Yeah, even with the mask,

he was a dead-giveaway! LOL! But they should have used a nobody for the part anyway! LOL! But as vamysteryfan said, the pawnshop scene made up for everything! LOL!

Yes, as TS fans (and as an SH fan too) we can't throw stones at the writing, but I agree, I'd hate for the show to lose ratings because of lazy writing and us not to be able to see Steve and Danny every week.

This ep has been bothering me, too, but for another plot reason. Why the hell would the bad guys kill the only kid that was ransomed in accordance with their demands? That's like telling all the other parents that as soon as they pay, their kids will also be slaughtered as soon as they pay. It just didn't make ANY sense other than giving those parents and that familiar actor an opportunity to weep brokenly on camera. Oh, yeah, and underscored just how right Steve was when he told them not to pay the ransom, whereas if they'd killed any of the other kids then it would have looked like Steve was wrong. But that wasn't a good enough reason to have the kidnappers act so idiotically. Also, wow, was that girl one cold bitch, setting up her nice coworker to be slaughtered during the kidnapping.

It's the good old 'The viewing public is composed of idiots, they'll never notice there's a plot hole here that the moon could orbit through as long as everything looks exciting/dramatic.'

I won't be seeing this particular ep for a while (so far we've seen three) but I'll repeat here what I said in my own journal; I've never seen such blatant 'the driver of a moving car doesn't keep his eyes on the road while holding a conversation' scenes as there were in the first two eps. The third one wasn't quite so bad.

I also wish they'd provide Steve and Danno with razors. I really, really hate that two-three day stubble look. If Danno wants a beard, it should be a beard, not something that looks as if he just hasn't bothered shaving for a few days! (OTOH, one show where, at least to start with, the men didn't have the unshaven look was Lost, where they would have been unshaven... Don't know what they did after season one, because I stopped watching.)
