*shrugs*Don't know - but I think that "slippery slope" is here - just not the one anyone imagined when the right for a woman to choose was settled in Roe v. Wade.
- Would you like to join me in a betting pool on how long it will take a lawyer defending a man against a rape charge - to say that because the victim became pregnant - she couldn't possibly have been raped? (I'm betting before December 31st of this year).
- If the Personhood Law ever sees the light of the Federal day (which is probable if Romney/Ryan win), then I fully expect the law to stand equally in defense of the poor sperm (plural and singular) - who are often recklessly spilled, spurted or contained by men - for no reason other than their own pleasure (the man's, not the sperm's - although, who's to say sperm don't enjoy it too? Carpe Diem and all that....).
- And what about the female egg? It's an organism too; one which when invaded by a sperm (another organism), creates a brand new organism. So which organism has dibs on life first? The egg? The sperm?
Oh, sure, the poor, lowly sperm doesn't live long, but come on, the female body dumps that egg every month (sometimes even against her will!) until she's too old to attract the male of the species (talk about unfair!).
- If we become a land of States that pass the Personhood Law, then we must say, without equivication, that masturbation should become illegal for men (still okay for us lowly females as we don't spill any living organisms - that we know of, anyway). And obviously, since any contraceptive would prevent that person from becoming a...person...then no sex.
Because..."NO SPERM WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS BABY!"
Hence, the only POSITIVELY SAFE method for having a baby would be freezing an egg and ONE gush of sperm (enjoy it, fellas, it's the last time you'll use that penis for anything but ridding yourself of bodily fluids like beer) and then allowing the doctors to do their thing....
And now, for your use, a banner and three icons....
