Well, shoot!
Storm's gone, sun's out, and the rude man in the apartment below is ruining the fresh smell with his DAMN CIGARETTES, which stink up my apartment every time! I'm betting his wife (or mother, I've yet to figure that out) won't let him smoke inside, so instead, he pollutes MY freaking air.

Oh, how quickly the worm turns; from sheer storm joy to murdering hostility. Wow.

PS: I'm going back to bed. *grumble, grumble, grumble*

Can you complain to the management? Seems very unfair to you.

I suspect not, as he's smoking out on the patio

and I admit, I haven't the nerve! Yes, I'm a wuss. :)

The storm sounds like it was a summer humdinger. I rather like those from the safety of the apartment.

Yuck!! That's air pollution in my opinion. And rude, I don't care if its outside your own door. You are right next to other people's (Your!) door.

I'm torn on this:

On the one hand, he should smoke *inside* because of the set-up in our building (patios/balconies) in a quasi-courtyard situation) which DOES allow the smoke to drift into other apartments - otoh - if his wife (or mother, which I truly suspect) can't handle the smoke, his only option is outside on the patio. OTOH, he sits there - patio door OPEN, which means the smoke is going inside there too - and he's on the ground floor, which means he could walk out to the sidewalk and smoke, thus not bothering anyone. *sigh*

Oh,the decisions. :(

Isn't there someone you can complain to?

I'm not sure I should, if that makes sense?

If he can't smoke inside (due to his wife or mother), outside patio is his only choice (although he could certainly walk out to the sidewalk - but having seen him, he'd never do that *rolls eyes*). I really suspect he's probably not even supposed to be here - he does NOT look 55 and this isn't one of the '55 and older' apartments where at least one resident must be 55 - here, anyone living in the apartment must be 55. But from what I've seen, there are a LOT of mothers, my age, who have their kids living with them.

Sucks big time

and he smokes at all hours, all day and night. :( So it wasn't just the joy of the rain that was spoiled. Often, I can't go to sleep until he stops and the smell dissipates. :( But if that's the only thing (well, other than the lady down the hall who cooks the stinkiest food ever *G*), I'll deal. It's beautiful here, and quiet, so I should count my blessings, me thinks.
