anyone want a cell phone?
I finally had the nerve to go through the box that was delivered by one of my employees on the day I was officially 'terminated' after being out on medical leave, and I found my old cell phone. It's a jazzy little silver Motorola (photo below) and all it needs is a charger (Amazon has them for under $4) and of course, you'd activate it when you get a phone plan (it was originally under Cingular). It has a camera, natch, (4x zoom) and would be perfect for anyone who doesn't live on their cell and really just wants the security. :)

First come, first serve - just pay shipping, which should be about $6, tops - it weighs practically nothing.

I so wanted one of these when flip phones became big, my Mom had one & I loved that it had the game bejeweled on it. When I got to the point where I could upgrade cingulair didn't have them anymore; the phone I ended up with was okay but it was a poor second choice. I have no need for it; but will keep ear out. If no one grabs it maybe there's a women's group or soldiers group that will provide postage for the donation. (shrug)

Its good that you finally went through the box, just from the one sentence you wrote it seems like that unopened box is/was a bit of an albatross from a bad time.

That box was indeed

my staff had been told to 'clean out her office' and send me my stuff. One of my favorite drivers delivered it, crying, and I took it, hid it in the back of the closet, moved it when I had to move here, stuck it in the back of the closet - and finally had the nerve to go through it. *shivers* I threw most of it out but kept some photos of my 'team', my 50th birthday party they surprised me with (they 'plugged' my door shut, surrounded my office with RIP gravestones, the works *G*), and a few other gentle reminders of who I used to be. But otherwise, trash to take out. :(

Oooh, donating the phone. I never thought of that. I'll surf the net and see what I can find. And I'll manage the postage for that! Thanks for the idea, Kalee!

Re: That box was indeed

Ouch. I don't blame you for hiding it at all. It was time though, and now, as you said, you can enjoy "a few gentle reminders". Maybe not so much trash, but unneeded baggage that went out to the dumpster.

I see from below someone has a need for the phone so that's good.

If no one wants it, a local women's shelter would probably like it. By law, cell phones can call 911, even if you don't have it on a plan. Security for someone who's trying to get away from an abusive situation.

Hunh; had the window open longer than I thought. Didn't see the other comment recommending the same thing. Great minds, I guess. ;)

Yeah, I'm going to do just that!

Checking the net now. :) I LOVE great minds and the people who have them *G*.

Ali, I am in Maryland with Lisa, Duncan's Twin. I won't be home for another week. Can you wait? I understand if you are in a rush.

Girl, if you need it, it's yours

just let me know when you're home. As long as the phone is needed, that's all that matters. :)

Re: Girl, if you need it, it's yours

My daughter got hers stolen and no way to replace it. I will write when I get home. Thanks, Alt.

That's almost exactly the kind of phone I had until last summer, when the flip part flipped all the way across the room! I was very happy with it, but had Verizon and the opportunity to upgrade. I got one of the last non-touch screen phones that Verizon was selling. I actually like it, but all I really wanted was a simple one like the one you have. So glad pattrose's daughter can use it!
