On March 1st, I'll be closing my yahoo group, "Alyjude's Cellar", a group formed for my fictions as they were created and for betaing. I'm closing it as I've not really been very involved in writing of late and, even though I have a few projects to finish, I honestly don't know if I'll succeed, but I sure as heck know not much will follow. I've posted this news to the group and offered a couple of ideas should I actually finish my current projects. First of all, I'll be creating a special 'friends' category so that I can post the stories here, for their eyes only, and we can follow the process used at the "Cellar" for betaing, improving and suggestions for the story/ies. Second, for those not on LJ, and who don't want to join, I'll start an email list to keep them informed and a password that will permit them to view the stories and discussions and to participate. If you want to be a part of the special friend 'group', just comment here. If you're not on LJ, you can still comment and ask to be a part of the email group. Projects left to complete: 1. Prequel to Burning Bright (Burning Bright will be posted to the ASR3 this weekend) - for Janet (half-finished) 2. Sequel to The Wedding March ( http://asr3.slashzone.org/archive/viewstory.php?sid=1296) - for Janet (half-finished) 3. Sequel to Merry Christmas - Almost (http://asr3.slashzone.org/archive/viewstory.php?sid=1260) in the Jake Universe - for Ande who wanted Blair to meet his new family and Jake his new "great gammy" (a third completed)
4. Complete the SG1/SGA WIP, Too Far and As Close As Possible (almost completed but has only been added to once since 2010)
Thank you to all the members of alyjude's cellar, thank you for your interest in my writing - and HUGE apologies for my inability to apparently continue the writing process. And finally, a very BIG thank you to those who took part in the beta process for the stories that were posted at the Cellar!

Re: You've made me think...

I think the cellar might make a great support group for stalled writers == you could mention it on the weekly chat because there are a fair number of us stalled sorts hanging out there. I like the idea that Sheila has ideas that might peak the muses' interests -- might help stalled folks get going on something different, a new take they didn't think of. She always has such great ideas. Maybe a chat about where we're at, why we're stuck == ie I worry that it's all been written before and, frankly, I find writing it again a bit boring. Maybe talking about these characters and why we'd still like to write about them might generate some energy and enthusiasm. Maybe people will have ideas about how to get unstuck, if part of the problem is that the story is stuck and the writer isn't sure where to take it. I don't know; maybe our enthusiasm about the characters has run its course but ... I hate to leave stories and series unfinished. And I used to love writing so much -- would be so good to get that back again. Maybe just talking again about why the buddy relationship, the hero/sidekick dynamic meant so much to us, what it said to us, might generate some of that energy again, that desire to explore the dynamic and tell its story.
