Okay, back to the subject at hand: This year's auction for the Big Bear Alpine Zoo (formerly The Moonridge Animal Park). Right now, I'm waiting to hear from the new President of FOMZ regarding when the groundbreaking ceremony may take place (they're hoping for Fall). As of this post, all documents for starting the new zoo were in the hands of the Board of Supervisors and as soon as they say "It's a GO!", the groundbreaking ceremony date will be set. With that in mind, I've decided to save the Auction itself for the ceremony; meaning we'd have our auction approximately 2-3 weeks prior to ceremony so the money would be in their hands and announced on that day. In the meantime, however, there are, as always, our wonderful animals that need adopting now, so beginning May 25th and ending June 1st, you'll be able to adopt in almost our usual manner (new FAQ will be up by tomorrow at our update journal).
The photos of the animals including all their information will be up one week prior to the start of the Adoptions.
While we wait for an actual groundbreaking date, start thinking, finding, writing, creating, whatever, for the annual auction.
Oh, and the good news? The zoo IS planning on reviving Sentinel Day at the zoo for 2014!!! It will be the last *regular* auction as the one that will follow (in 2015) will be the BIG ONE - the final auction to raise our highest amount to date just in time for the Grand Opening!!!
