a box under my bed, one I knew was full of photos. The idea was to find a few special ones to send my nephew in Virginia so his sons will have them - I think I have most of the photos of him through the years, like a holidays, etc. Not all, by any means, but most, as I was the major photographer chronicling his childhood. I found the photos and have them in a neat new pile, ready to be put together in a small book to send them, but while searching, I also found a few other treasures I'd totally forgotten I'd kept, including two pages (one handwritten, one an email I printed out at work *G*) from the very first Moonridge Auction in 2003. The printed email was one sent to me by, I think, Gershwhen, after our auction site was hacked, and that I then sent to me at work so I could print it out. What's interesting as I look at it now, are the authors who donated stories. This page represents only Items #20 thru 52 so I'm assuming the rest were lost? but I managed to keep this as a keepsake? Anyway, of those items, some of the authors will, I know, will bring back good memories, whether you were a TS fan, an SG1 fan, or both, as other authors mentioned will keep us in the here and now as they're still writing TS for us!
A TS story from Arianna
A TS or SG1 story from Babs
A TS or SGA story from Biblio
A TS story from Blankety Blank
A TS story from Bluewolf
A co-written TS story from Brook Henson and Calisto Echo (who also offered to zine it)
A TS or S/H story or a xover from Candy Apple
A TS story from Calisto Echo
A TS pwp from Caro Dee
A TS or SG1 or xover from Dangermouse
A TS or SG1 or xover from Delilah
A TS short story from Dolimir
The other items were tons of scripts (remember how much fun it was to collect them?), zine gift certificates from favorite publishers, quilted items from Marmoset and Damurlin, and from France, a bottle of French champagne autographed by Garett!
The other page was given to me at Moonridge by Delilah, who'd been doing the accounting. It's on a piece of yellow legal paper and was page 1 of several - and covers the final totals for Items 1 thru 28, of which a few of the above were included. Those few (Arianna through Caro Dee) alone brought in $860. That's just nine stories, eight total authors, and they brought in almost a $1000. If I were a reader (oh, wait, I am!), I'd send out little nudges to favorite authors, asking them to set aside a story for a possible auction be it in 2014 or when the new Zoo opens. Yeah, wee nudges.
I'm glad I kept these. Really brought back great memories, including the Pajama party at my place, thanks to the ladies who brought sleeping bags and set up home with me in the living room! 2003 was a good year. :)
