Oh gee, what a surprise - alyburns' (aka sideburns & alyjude) Hiding Place
If you spoke faster than David Hewlett you’d travel back in time: Michael Shanks
Oh gee, what a surprise
Rick Perry is running for President (and will announce on the day of the straw poll and of course, the story leaked on the day of the Republican debate). Man, he's got good PR people. Obama should steal a few of them.

And of course, Sarah Palin can't be left out, so she's taking 'another' vacation in her little trailer (read: HUGE BUS) and her first stop? Gosh, the Iowa State Fair.

I will never be able to watch the wonderful movie, State Fair (the one with Jeanne Crain and Dana Andrews) again (which takes place at the Iowa State Fair) so will be stuck with the remake (Pat Boone, Ann Margaret) which takes place at the Texas State Fair - oh wait, Rick Perry is the Texas Governor. So there goes that State Fair movie too.

Well fuck.

BTW: I'm running for President in 2012. Just thought I'd mention it - quietly. No bus. No religious fervor at stadiums, just one supporter:

But she's feisty and truly eloquent and loves the press - oh, and she's for animal rights in a big way and very environmentally conscious. Very. I may run her as my VP since my first choice is Canadian.

OMG! The end of the world must be near because I totally agree with you on this one. Perry is scary especially after seeing him "preaching" the other night. I won't vote for someone who sounds like a cross between a Southern revival preacher and a used car salesman. Total turnoff.

I wouldn't vote for Palin either. She just doesn't have the experience or the personality that is needed to be president. Actually, I'm not overly impressed with most of the candidates I've seen so far.

Me either

that's why I'm going for the write-in votes :) And remember the old saying, "Politics makes strange bedfellows!" LOL!

Re: I'm a republican, sorta

Having voted for Ross Perot as an Independent in the '92 election I know where you're coming from! Right now, imho, there's no difference between the Republicans running - and Obama, so I'm looking for *someone* - anyone, who can lead us out of this morass, who can go against the tide, the money-men, and the Americans who can't seem to see they're voting against themselves.

Imagine a man like Ross, who had the nerve to actually say out loud that he had a firm pro-choice stance on abortion, wanted expansion of the war on drugs, wanted to end the outsourcing of jobs, and was a strong advocate of the Environmental Protection Agency. My only problems with him was his complete opposition to gun control (and how he handled the Maya Lin issue - I still can't believe that!). All of which there is no perfect candidate, I guess. Except me, of course. *BG*

It's such a pity I'm over the water as I'd vote for you and I love your VP!

Re: Don't forget!

You've got my vote! Oh, wait, they don't let Canadians vote. (I think they should, though. We'd offer a different perspective, an economic policy that works, a social equity policy that works ... and what happens in America always impacts directly upon us, so I think we should have a say!)

When you're President, you can make these changes .... ;)

Re: Don't forget!

But you have a LOT of friends in the US - so tell them to write me in!!! *BG* I'd suggest Canada and the US merge, but I don't want the US to ruin Canada. :(

*checks off one person*

Okay, my list now has one name *G* and the candidate is most grateful. Do you have any babies I need to kiss?
