STOPPING GOOGLE FROM COLLECTING YOUR INFO - alyburns' (aka sideburns & alyjude) Hiding Place
If you spoke faster than David Hewlett you’d travel back in time: Michael Shanks
and following in starwatcher307's brilliant footsteps, I'm providing the same excellent link she did in her post warning of a new Google policy. I didn't even know Google was collecting my history when I searched and I sure as hell never voluntarily clicked whatever needed clicking to allow it - so it must be a default setting. Anyway, Google will be interconnecting all its faces on the web like yeah, gmail, and it's effective March 1st. So if you want to protect your privacy and not permit them to track your history, you have until March 1st to change your settings. starwatcher307 pointed us to a wonderful person, anjak_j who provides explicit instructions (they're easy too) on how clear your history and change the settings so your history can't be saved from now on. Just go here and follow the steps. Easy peasy.

Thank you, Linda (you're our dreamgirl!), for being a step ahead for all of us, and thank you to anjak_j for listing the steps!

Pass it on!

thank you so much for re-posting about this in your journal. I've got multiple gmail accounts. turns out web history was on for only 2 of them.
