Emergency Phone Tree List!
So far, only four people have commented with emergency info over at this post and last time, we had over 50 fandom friends on the Emergency Phone/Email Tree List. The list is just a way of letting folks know what's happened when one of us 'seems' to have disappeared (we all know there's nothing worse than wondering what happened when a cyber friend stops posting or goes silent for a long time!).

And the answer to the 'best movie line evah' was: The Avengers :) Pilot to command when trying to 'engage' the Hulk. *BG* I totally loved the movie and no...

...I don't believe Coulson is dead. I'm pretty sure, in fact, that he's an advanced android (or just really smart in allowing his death to be faked to get the gang to perform as one). *G*

Coulson spoiler

I saw a spoiler somewhere that Coulson will be back, alive. Maybe in a TV series?

Re: Coulson spoiler

Yep, there's a new series brewing. :) But supposedly takes place before the movie. But that doesn't change my opinion that he's alive and all hell will break loose (watch out for thundering large green man) when the Avengers find out. And here's praying a sequel is in the offing....

Coulson totally is not dead. Even if TPTB would be annoying/idiots enough to keep him dead, he is NOT DEAD. Clint needs him.

I confess I don't really understand the emergency thing -- does that mean I could leave an email address that somebody could send an email to my family to check on me just in case I vanished?

The phone/email list is for this:

In the past, when we've lost a member of a fandom, we wouldn't hear for ages if at all, *unless* the individual left a contact name. With the use of the emergency list, that individual (or family member) could then contact either everyone, or designate one person on the list to let us know what had (or was) happening.

Obviously, when you get on the list and it's sent to you (with updates as they come in) - you'd make sure that if anything happened to you, you'd have designated one person to use it and if something happened to one of us, you'd be notified. And boy, am I making this sound complicated or what? And it isn't. :)

If you need a more...intelligent version of the "how to", just email me. I might be more coherent. :)

Eh, my mind is all backwards and sideways here. It does strike me that I need to think this out -- there's really only one person anybody could contact to ask about me and I'm not sure if... well, she knows now that I've got a fannish alter ego, but dealing with talking about it if something happened to me would probably be hard enough for her that she'd probably just totally ignore any email or other contact anyway, and I wouldn't want to make things harder for her. So I guess I'm not good material for this in any case...

Okay, tryiing again *G*

Can you give your friend one name 'on the web' to contact if anything happens to you? Then she'd only have to send on email or make one phone call and the phone tree would get the word out. Maybe a close fandom friend she already knows about? Just an idea.

Also, keep in mind you can be on the list only to be contacted by email if you want to know if something has happened to others. :)

I'm terrible at explaining things. Really.

Strikes me that leaving my phone numbers and email addy doesn't do you much good if I disappear because I live alone. I'd suggest my sister, Susan's phone number (I'll send it to you in an email) and maybe StarWatcher as I think I gave her name and coordinates to my brother as the person to send all my 'fannish' stuff to as my executor.

and makes perfect sense. :) You and Chris are my 'designators'. *G*
